The portfolio · 01 Dynamic pricing

The price that knows
what day it is.

One sheet sets the rules. The website, the booking flow and my own dashboard all read it, so a quote is never retyped and never stale. Watch the real site, then turn the dials yourself.

One sheet. Every price.

The recording is the live site. The dials underneath are an illustration, so you can feel how a price composes before you ask for one.

The price that knows what day it is.

Baxstar Fishing’s trip rates move with the season, the weekday and the size of the group. One pricing sheet feeds the site, the booking flow and my own dashboard, so a quote is never retyped and never stale.

$424

Four hundred base times 1.06 shoulder times 1.00 weekday plus zero for one to two guests equals 424 dollars.

Plus a 6% provider fee at checkout, shown before anyone pays. The real engine reads these rules from one sheet; change the sheet and every quote changes with it.

How it works

Change the sheet, change every quote.

No formulas hidden in a website. One place holds the rules, and everything else reads from it.

  1. 01

The rules live in one sheet.

Season, weekday and group size, each on its own row. The sheet is the source, and it is yours.

  2. 02

    The website reads it.

baxstarfishing.com shows trip prices from that sheet, so the number a visitor sees is the number in the sheet that day.

  3. 03

    FareHarbor takes the booking.

The quote the visitor saw is the price the booking carries. Nothing is retyped between the site and the checkout.

  4. 04

    Pricing Command checks the math.

My owner panel reads the same sheet, quotes any date, checks that the sheet and FareHarbor agree, and drafts a change for review.

What a pricing build delivers

Yours to keep, yours to change.

Built the way Baxstar Fishing’s was built, on the tools you already pay for.

  • 01A rate sheet you own, with every rule in plain rows: seasons, weekdays, group sizes
  • 02A website that quotes from the sheet, so a price change is one edit, not a developer ticket
  • 03A booking that carries the quoted price into the checkout you already use, where it can take one
  • 04A one-page map of how it fits together, so anyone on your team can change a price without me

Questions, answered

Before you
ask for one.

Is dynamic pricing the same as surge pricing?

No. The rules are set ahead of time and written down. Season, weekday and group size each have a rate in the sheet, and the price a visitor sees is the price in that sheet on that day. Nothing changes while someone is looking, and nothing changes because of who is looking.

Will this work with the booking system I already use?

It depends on whether your booking system can take a price per date or per product. FareHarbor can, which is why Baxstar Fishing runs on it. Tell me what you use and I’ll check it before anything is built. If it can’t carry the price, I’ll say so up front.

What do you need from me to start a pricing build?

Your current rate card and the exceptions you already make by hand. Peak weekends, slow weekdays, bigger groups, the deals you quote from memory. Those become the rows in the sheet. From there I build the sheet, wire the site to it and show you how to change a price yourself.

Your turn

Which price do you still quote by hand?

Tell me how you set prices today and where it goes wrong. I’ll tell you whether a sheet-driven engine fits, what it would take, and what it would cost.
